New Keyboard layout !?

New Khmer Keyboard for iPhone Comes out Soon!!!!

lols. I'm just kidding. I know nothing at all about the keyboard layout editing but the idea of another khmer keyboard for iPhone stuck in my mind. I just wanna share it with you.

Ok. Here come another idea (copy&paste ^_^) of khmer keyboard layout for iPhone.
Have you ever try the Japanese Kana keyboard ? It's a cool japanese keyboard that you can find on iPhone.
( Go to: Settings> General> International> Keyboards> Japanese> Kana)

Here are some screen shots of the keyboard.

As you can see in the 4th image, when you push and hold a button it will show you all its scripts. Actually, you don't need to do that. The example for the button "JKL".
- Tap on the button to input "j"
- Slide from the button to the Left to input "k"
-Slide from the button to the Top to input "l"

So, one button can represent 5 scripts. (Tap on it, Slide to the Left, Slide to the Top, Slide to the Right, Slide to the Bottom). If we get used to this kind of keyboard we can type faster with only ONE finger.

Here is my suggestion for another khmer keyboard in iPhone:

The concept of this keyboard:
-- Don't need Shift key, you can type with ONE finger
-- Don't need to change to English keyboard to type English character
-- Easy to type Number(keypad layout) and Symbols
-- The button size are big big

Remember: If you don't get used to this kind of keyboard, your typing speed is really really slow.

Just a break of the translation.
I hope you, CAMBODIAN, help us with the translation. ;_;

Good idea!

But you have to reduce the script for the bottom button! iPhone can display only 3 directions at the bottom! So it can handle only 4 codes.

I think we need words suggestion for Khmer as well! Chuon Nath Dictionary is the great source.

Anyway, I don't think this gonna be another khmer keyboard. It's just an idea that I wanted to share.

Anyway, have you check this website?

http://www.sealang.net/khmer/dictionary.htm

It includes Chuon Nath Dictionary and Khmer English dictionary. Of course you can type English to search for Khmer word there.
I refer to this site many times for the translation.
